With Genesis being the newest luxury player in America, the introduction of a compact sport sedan is a big step in making the brand more comparable to more well established rivals. Thankfully, the smaller G70 has some good bones, riding on a modified Stinger platform that is 6″ shorter overall. Pair it with either a 2.0 turbo or 3.3 twin-turbo V6 and buyers in the market for a sport sedan should seriously put one on their drive list.

As compact CUV’s replace the midsize sedan as the American family car, competition and sales have seen a huge increase. Which makes the redesign of one of the Subaru Forester even more important. Now riding on the Subaru Global Product Architecture, this redone 2019 model may not look all that different, but under the skin it sports a new platform, suspension, interior, and engine. Enthusiast will not like the discontinuation of the turbo motor, but the standard 2.5 H4 has been upgraded with direct injection and up to 33 MPG.

With the latest generation RDX become Acura’s best-seller, it would make sense for Acura to introduce their next generation of design and technology on this very important model. Gone is the models somewhat bloated handling dynamics and dated interior. The V6 is also gone with a new 2.0L turbo engine and segment first 10-speed transmission under the hood. This new RDX also marks the return of SH-AWD, it should had some much needed spice from Japan in the very competitive compact luxury CUV space.

After a 5 year hiatus, the Insight is back and in the traditional sedan body riding on the current 10th generation Civic platform. Think of the 2019 version as a new Civic Hybrid with the latest 2 motor powertrain, up to 55 MPG city, and a spacious and premium cabin designed to entice buyers away from the Toyota Prius.

2019 Nissan Altima – Redline: First Look – 2018 NYIAS

As family sedans continue to feel the heat from crossovers, Nissan takes the covers off the latest version of the Altima sedan. Replacing the old V6 with a VC-turbo 4-cylinder and offering AWD on the base engine should give buyers a reason to choose it over a more practical SUV. Throw in an all-new interior with a brand new infotainment system which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and we could see a pretty exciting war brewing in the midsize family sedan segment.
