Mobile games have made their way into our daily lives as gamers whether we want them to or not. From Flappy Bird to Clash of Clans and Angry Birds, mobile games have become some of the most common apps on any child or parent’s phone.

They come in many different forms and genres, just like real games, but mobile games have a few “quirks” about them. Let’s get the biggest one out of the way, the idea of freemium gaming was popularized from mobile games. Freemium is a term for a game that is free to play, but has payment structure to advance gameplay in the form of microtransactions. Just hearing that phrase probably made a few people’s skin crawl, but it’s true. When people can pay just one or two dollars at a time to get a meger advantage in a game, they add up to multi-million dollar companies that just keep churning out games. Just think of Candy Crush and all the other similar games King Games have come out with.

These are just a few of the shady and dark practices mobile app developers don’t want you looking to hard into. Today, we’ll be looking at many more of these practices. If you have an app you remember doing some of these shady things, let us know in the comments down below. As always, don’t forget to subscribe to TheGamer for more exciting gaming content.
