Started by car fanatic Steve Earle, the earliest events were simply Earle and some invited friends bringing their vintage race cars out for a weekend of track time at the legendary Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The event gained momentum to become a central feature of what would become the Monterey Car Weekend and then Monterey Car Week. The crowd has gotten much larger since the ’70s, but the list of participating cars has also grown, making this a must-see event for at least one of the four days it runs.
