Imagine pole-vaulting across dangerous terrain, down steep slopes and ravines. “Salto del pastor”—translated from Spanish as “the shepherd’s leap”—is just that. Now a folk sport and hobby, it was once the Guanches way of transport while shepherding on the volcanic terrain of the Canary Islands. Gregorio is a shepherd who still moves around this way, avoiding the use of cars and city life. Salto is now seen as a hobby or a leisure sport practiced by enthusiasts who continue the tradition. We meet Gregorio, as well as the others who have developed new techniques to enjoy this peculiar transportation, in this short film by Dorota Mazur and Robert Migas.

Abdullah befriends farmers and livestock alike on this episode of Bong Appetit. Come along as he visits Washington’s Vashon Island on a quest to make some seriously dank – and locally sourced – cannabis cupcakes.

Abdullah’s tour guide on this pastoral adventure is Jody Hall, owner of famed Seattle bakery Cupcake Royale and a line of edibles, The Goodship Company. Their first stop is Cornerstone Farm & Dairy to collect fresh cream from a local farmer and her four-legged milk factory, Edith, before heading on to Vashon Velvet to choose the choicest Washington cannabis for their cakes. Ingredients in hand, Abdullah and Jody head to the kitchen to bake up a batch of blitzed-out budcakes fit for any celebration. Or Tuesday. Bong appetit!

Fred’s 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ affectionately known as Tubesock was in need of a new engine, and Fred wanted to recreate a crazy stunt from the 50’s by driving his jeep underwater. To achieve this Fred swaps in a new Cummins ISF2.8 diesel engine, bolts on big Maxxis tires (www.maxxis.com), and sets about waterproofing the whole Jeep to survive under 12 feet of water. Will the little Jeep be a submarine or just an anchor? Watch and find out!
