Uruguay vs Iran

Iran national football team edged past Uruguay 1-0 in a friendly match thanks to the Mehdi Taremi’s second half goal on Friday.

Substitute Taremi opened the solitary goal of the match in the 79th minute at the NV Arena in Sankt Pölten, Austria.

Darwin Nunez and Luiz Suarez made some scoring chances but Iran goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand kept a clean sheet in the first half.

Substitute Amir Abedzadeh also did brilliantly to save the goal in the second half.

Iran, headed by Carlos Queiroz, are scheduled to meet Senegal on Tuesday.

Team Melli have been drawn in Group B along with England, the U.S. and Wales.

New 2023 Range Rover Sport review | luxury SUV driven | Autocar

This is the new 2023 Range Rover Sport, Land Rover’s latest luxurious SUV.

It’s based on the same architecture that underpins the latest full-fat Range Rover, which means it’s a largely aluminium 4×4 that’s very much full-size for Europe – not so huge by US standards.

The range is incredibly broad, from diesels through to a V8, but here Matt Prior is testing the plug-in hybrid, badged P510e.

That combines a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor with its oomph provided by a 31.8kWh battery. The car has 503bhp, which is good enough for a 5.4sec 0-62mph time and a 150mph top speed. It also has a 70 mile electric-only range if you start fully charged.

In the UK, the Range Rover Sport range starts from around £80,000 and this particular model from £112,040.

The United States men’s national soccer team dropped its first 2022 World Cup friendly 2-0 against Japan at Merkur Spiel-Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany on Friday morning.

Daichi Kamada got Japan on the scoreboard early in the match, notching a goal in the 24th minute. Team USA failed to generate much on offense in the following 50 minutes. In fact, 75 minutes into the friendly match against Japan, and the Americans had generated a mere three shots — zero of which were on target.

Goalie Matt Turner led the USMNT on the defensive side, recording six saves and keeping the game close despite a barrage of shot attempts from Japan’s offensive attack.The performance possibly cemented Turner’s status as the team’s starting keeper in Qatar.

However, in the waning minutes of the match, Japan bested Team USA on the counter as Kaoru Mitoma dribbled past Reggie Cannon to score a right-footed goal in the 88th minute to extend the lead to 2-0. Yuta Nakayama was credited with the assist.

The Americans play Saudi Arabia in the second World Cup friendly on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
