Movies get remade in other countries all the time. The reason for that is to exploit the original version of the movies success while making an adaptation to better suit a particular countrys audience. Examples in the United States include movies like The Ring, which is a Hollywood remake of the Japanese horror movie Ringu, The Grudge, which is a Hollywood remake of the Japanese horror movie Ju-on, and Let Me In, which is a Hollywood remake of the Swedish horror movie Let the Right One In. But its no surprise that the reverse also happens on an even more regular basis. An incredibly large number of Hollywood movies have been copied around the world, in countless countries in various continents. Sometimes they get credited as remakes, other times theyre just blatant copies that arent so above board. Thats what this video is all about – and while most of these movies were always likely to be copied, you might be surprised about some of them. Well look at foreign copies of Disneys incredibly popular 2013 animation Frozen, 2001s underappreciated drama I Am Sam, 2000s brilliant psychological thriller Memento, 2003s hilarious comedy Bruce Almighty, 1954s classic musical offering Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, 1992s superb Western Unforgiven, 1990s memorable romantic fantasy Ghost, 1966s classic Spaghetti Western The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, 2004s subtle black comedy Sideways and 2000s romantic fantasy comedy What Women Want.
