The final version of a movie goes through a lot of changes, edits, and production notes before it reaches the big screen. Even after the initial release, changes may still apply as the movie prepares for DVD, digital, and TV distribution. This leads to many little-seen versions of movies.

Actor Topher Grace decided to edit all of the Star Wars prequels into a single 85 minute film that really minimizes the story. Iron Man 3 was important to the Chinese box office and this is why the film had multiple scenes added into the movie. Honey, I Blew Up the Kid needed some extra scenes to air on TV, so the television version has a lot of extra stuff. Disney’s Emperor’s New Groove was supposed to be a completely different movie and it was all chronicled in the documentary The Sweatbox. Despicable Me 2 was six weeks away from premiering in theaters when Al Pacino abruptly dropped out from the project. A Christmas Story could have been completely different if some of the Director’s Cut made it into the final film. It’s a Wonderful Life is a holiday classic, but there is actually a colorized version that makes the film look completely different. When the first Anchorman movie was filmed, there was so much content that a second movie was put together for DVD release. The Lost World: Jurassic Park added a few extra scenes for the television debut on the Fox network.
