Jacqueline Novogratz: Tackling poverty with “patient capita

Her solution, outlined here through a series of revealing personal stories, is “patient capital”: support for “bottom of the pyramid” businesses which the commercial market alone couldn’t provide. The result: sustainable jobs, goods, services — and dignity — for the world’s poorest.

Seattle Area Googlers Unite to End Homelessness

On June 16-17, Seattle Area Googlers got together to volunteer at the annual Fremont Fair, along with ‘Unite to End Homelessness’, a local non-profit organization. Googlers from the Kirkland and Seattle offices helped build a house for the Habitat for Humanity organization over the course of 2 days.
