We’re sneaking up on 100 Movie Lists so for list number 98, CineFix writer Billy Jackson pulls back the curtain to reveal his own personal Top 10. Cartoons are often associated with good memories and childhood. As kids, we would sift through our favorite channels and sit back to watch our favorite characters. The stories are usually kid friendly, but sometimes they would border into the dark side. In these cases, the toons are just bleak and too dark for kids, other times they are real life moments. Either way, at times we questioned if they were a bit too much for kids. You be the judge while you check out our list.
For example, did you know that in an episode dealing with Mother’s Day in Rugrats, we learn that Chuckie’s mom passed away because of a terminal illness. The way it’s discusses is beautiful and heartwarming but was it too heavy for kids?
Did you know that there was an episode of Invader Zim in which Zim harvested the organs of his classmates and replaced them with common items? Creepy and gross.
There was also an episode of The New Batman Adventures in which Commissioner Gordon finds out Batgirl is actually his daughter Barbara. But finds out as she’s dying in his arms. He blames Batman and goes on the hunt.
