For years, fans of Pixar movies have been connecting the movies together. A shared universe known as the Pixar theory showcases how films like Brave, Monsters Inc, and even Toy Story all connect together. But what if all these movies had an even darker connection to another classic film? The Shining has been connected to several iconic Pixar movies, including the recent hit Coco.

In our theory we find a strong connection between the character of Danny Torrance and the development of Pixar movies. Using a meta-world and the view of Danny, you can see how movies developed, references were placed into the story and how the animation has only intensified over the years. The Pixar filmmakers like Lee Unkrich love The Shining and it has been shown through Easter eggs, references, and plot points based on the movie. See how the theory develops through movies like Toy Story 3, Finding Nemo, and other Pixar hits. See how the character of Danny could have developed over the years, found his love of writing, and turned it into a meta-career at Pixar. When writing from this view a lot of the references and story decisions make sense.
