Ever since the spindle grille was introduced about 5 years ago, Lexus has been dealing with quite a controversial backlash regarding their overdone new exterior styling. Most called it an overreaction to criticism regarding the bland characteristics of previous models. Over the years, we’ve seen Lexus evolve the “spindle” grille into something that looks more well incorporated instead of “tacked” on at the last minute and the 2019 Lexus ES350 may very well be a huge step forward in design direction at Lexus. Taking the aggressive and sleek lines from the very successful new Lexus LC and LS flagships, the new Lexus ES F-Sport applies what they’ve learned to their best-selling sedan. It seems easy to underestimate a toddler sized reindeer or pink haired girl with wings, but in the world of Anime, nothing is what it seems, and no one is who they appear to be. From magical otherworldly creatures, to intrepid humans who are fighting their way to a better life, all of these characters who may seem weak or plain at first, almost always turn out to be remarkable. Take Gintoki Sakata, the silver-haired samurai who has a hard time talking to the ladies, but is actually a skilled swordsman and loyal defender of the innocent. Or Tsunayoshi Sawada, the youngest member of a very old mafia family, who starts out as a cowardly and sullen teenager before stepping into the role of mafia boss. There is also Ikaros, the Angeloid who fell to Earth, and because of her inability to express human emotions, doesn’t seem like much at first. But get in the way of her goals, and it’s a whole other story. Or Souma Yukihira, the cocky teenager with big dreams of being a chef like his father, who most would write off as another hormonal teen with an attitude problem before seeing his true power and creativity in the kitchen. And we can’t forget Tony Tony Chopper, the cutest little reindeer doctor you’ll ever see. He will always be underestimated and mistaken for pets because of his size, but not only is Tony Tony a highly intelligent doctor, he’s a fierce pirate as well. All of these characters are different in so many ways, but it’s the hidden strengths and power that they possess that ties them together and makes them even greater in the end.
