When it comes to movies in the MCU, the Ant-Man franchise is one of the more light-hearted adventures. Paul Rudd’s character is constantly making jokes and the shrinking and growth technology showcases a lot of different visual gags. Despite all the comedy, the movie also manages to have a lot of dark moments within the story, plot, and connections to other parts of the MCU. Let’s take a lot at some of these dark moments.
Ghost is one of the main villains in Ant-Man and the Wasp, but her story isn’t so black and white. She actually manages to escape, making our heroes not look so heroic in the end. A huge part of the film is the journey between Hank and Janet finally reuniting. It’s too bad a finger snap has made that journey a lot shorter than we realize. The Quantum Realm is filled with all types of crazy rules, including one that could have some dark repercussions for the foreseeable future. Ant-Man may have added another hero to the title of the film, but in the end, he is left all-alone and truly all alone thanks to Thanos. Ava was saved by Janet at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp, but there a huge problem with keeping her stable for the future. Knowing this truth could turn her into the evil villain once again.
