There are a lot of different anime out there – so many that there is an anime for everyone. With so many different anime to choose from and many genres, it’s difficult for people to find them. Some anime, while not very popular, are also weird but in a strange way, highly addictive. Have you ever wondered what would happen if an author, unbound by practical limitations, could let their imaginations can run wild to create something eccentric but actually good? The most weird anime combine themes you may have never thought could be combined like samurai and aliens. Some anime explore hypothetical situations like Jesus and Buddha being roommates in apartment in Tokyo. Absurd comedies aside, some of us enjoy going the extra mile and fling ourselves down the rabbit hole of absolutely insane series. Some of these shows have a dark, sinister, surreal quality to them, some have ambiguous plots, and others are downright hilariously nuts like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. From pleasantly absurd themes to horrifying scenes that are more akin to an acid trip than an anime series plot, there’s bound to be elements in at least a few of these entries that will make you think: “This is the kind of weird I’ve been looking for.” Check out some great anime, including shows like Saint Young Men.
