Slopestyle skiing comp – Day 2 Red Bull Cold Rush 2011

For more snow sports visit http://win.gs/MqRAii
Day two of Red Bull Cold Rush dawned blue as competitors awoke in the historic Grand Imperial Hotel in Silverton, Colorado. Built in 1884, the “GI,” as locals call it, served as Silverton’s social hub for all the gold and silver miners that descended on the town around the same time. Now the GI is the hub for Red Bull Cold Rush and its opulently decorated rooms complete with creaky wood floors and thin walls means when one person gets up in the morning, everyone else is soon to follow.

After a hearty breakfast, competitors headed to the base of Silverton Mountain to get the Slopestyle portion of the event under way.

Danny Hillis: Understanding cancer through proteomics

http://www.ted.com Danny Hills makes a case for the next frontier of cancer research: proteomics, the study of proteins in the body. As Hillis explains it, genomics shows us a list of the ingredients of the body — while proteomics shows us what those ingredients produce. Understanding what’s going on in your body at the protein level may lead to a new understanding of how cancer happens.
