The Best Way to Move Mountain Goats? Helicopters.

How do you move a mountain goat nearly a hundred miles? With a helicopter. Mountain goats were introduced to Utah in the late 1960s, and since the initial release of six goats, their population has increased to more than 2,000. When a group gets too large for its range, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources captures and moves some of the goats to other populations throughout the state. The best way to capture the goats is to shoot them with a net gun, strap them in a harness, and then move them by helicopter. The process is mostly harmless to the goats, though they may suffer small cuts when tangled in the net. Netting is safer for the goats than using tranquilizers, as a partially tranquilized goat could be hurt even more. A veterinarian is on hand to make sure they’re healthy and safe before being released.

Filipino Street Food, Alcohol, and Pig Faces: Chef’s Night Out in Manila

We head to Manila, the capital of the Philippines, for this episode of Chef’s Night Out. Justin Sarabia, the chef and owner of Rural Kitchen of Lilliw, Laguna, cooks food influenced by his lola’s (grandmother’s) cooking. Justin and friends head out for the night in Manila, beginning at Nikkei, a restaurant that serves Peruvian-Japanese cuisine, and then on to a speakeasy called Alcohol by Volume, a pregame to the one of the best parts of eating in Manila: street food. After lots of street food enjoyed with beer and gin, Justin heads back to his restaurant to cook sisig, a Filipino favorite made from pig’s face. While the food in this Chef’s Night Out is great, it’s really the ride in Vin Diesel’s Jeepney that sets it apart from the rest.
