How To Shell Out For A Beach Clambake (With Lobster & Chicken & Corn & Farideh)

At MUNCHIES, we love social events–you know, like, mixers, formals, clambakes, and trips to the Cape (in our case, Long Island).

Culinary Director Farideh Sadeghin took a trip out to Long Island, New York to go diving for clams. Then she headed back to shore to show us how to make the ultimate beach clambake, complete with chicken, sausage, lobsters, corn, potatoes, and of course, freshly-caught clams. Her method uses different layers of seaweed and raw eggs that turn to hard boiled once the cooking is complete. Summer might be coming to an end, but there’s still time to clam!

Check out the recipe for a perfect clambake, here: http://bit.ly/munchies-clambake-recipe

Sometimes, we really question why these gadgets were actually made. BUT what do you reckon, would you put any of these gadgets to good use? Perhaps lock your wine away from your flatmates?

You can find out more about the gadgets/ingredients we’ve reviewed in the links below. Just so you know, these are likely to be affiliate links, which means if you buy something from the store after clicking on them, the store will pay us a percentage of your basket… This doesn’t cost or change anything else for you!

How To Make a Perfect Patty Melt with Chris Kronner

We’re making the ultimate patty melt with Chris Kronner of KronnerBurger and author of the cookbook A Burger to Believe In.

Chris shows us two techniques to prep the beef, first by using a grinder and then chopping by hand. This sandwich gets topped with caramelized onions, creamy béchamel, hot mustard, and, of course, cheese. It’s a patty melt to believe in.

Chef’s Night Out: East Village Sake, Mac&Cheese, & Karaage Sliders with Karasu

Co-Chefs Elena Yamamoto and Yael Peet of Brooklyn’s Karasu leave their small izakaya kitchen for a night of sake, pasta, and more pasta in the East Village and beyond.

The night out begins at East Village staple Sake Bar Decibel for sake and small bites. Then it’s over to the West Village where the chefs order almost every pasta on the menu at Via Carota before heading back to Brooklyn for mac and cheese and white wine spritzers at Moloko. The night ends back at Karasu where the chefs whip up karaage sliders with Japanese tartar sauce to top off the perfect evening.
