Another day another big gaming controversy that has lit the internet ON FIRE. This time around it’s not EA or Naughty Dog that’s in the hot seat but rather Square Enix and Sony for their very questionable decision to include Spider-Man in the new Avengers game but not for Xbox players. Needless to say, this has made a lot of people VERY ANGRY. It’s easy to see why.

You see, the gaming industry thrives on competition and console exclusivity has become a big part of that. Sony’s massive success during this generation has largely been built on the back of their exclusive titles. For that matter, would Xbox even be a thing if it weren’t for Halo? Then we will look at the possibly terrifying future that awaits us if console exclusive microtransaction playable characters become the new norm of the gaming world to come. Frankly, I think this generation has seen enough controversy to last two more, don’t you?

So let’s dive right into it, shall we? Here are all the reasons why console exclusives are making a dangerous future for the gaming industry.
