2018 is undoubtedly going to be the most exciting year yet when it comes to comic book movies – seriously, it’s going to be absolutely awesome! We’re going to see Ant-Man and the Wasp, Aquaman, Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Deadpool 2 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix being released – as well as Venom, which is a very exciting prospect. Ruben Fleischer will be directing and Tom Hardy will be playing the lead role in Sony’s intriguing offering – and, quite frankly, we’re extremely excited about it. We actually know very little about it at this stage, and this video will look at five rumors about it, as well as five things we DO definitely know about it. Those things are; that it will actually be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (rumor), that Tom Hardy is totally nailing his portrayal of the titular Eddie Brock (truth), that the Venom: Lethal Protector story arc from 1991 will be adapted for the movie (rumor), that Ruben Fleischer is the perfect director for the movie (truth), that a version of She-Venom will appear (rumor), that Carnage will be a villain in the movie (truth), that a variety of actors have been linked to the role of Carnage (rumors), that it will have absolutely no ties to previous Spider-Man franchises (truth), that Silver Sable and Black Cat will appear (rumor) and that it will be “R” rated (truth).
