Lawyers representing Donald Trump have begun defending him in the Senate.
If the US President was removed from office so close to another election, they said it would set a “dangerous precedent”.
They said he had done “nothing wrong” in response to allegations that he had pressured Ukraine to dig up dirt on Democratic leadership contender Joe Biden.
