It’s over 19 feet long and has characters and beasts from ancient Roman myths. Archaeologists speculate that one scene depicts Hercules fighting a centaur. The mosaic is a well-preserved piece of art that reveals clues about ancient life. Archaeologists and volunteers have been digging at three former Roman sites in Boxford since 2015. Remnants of the Rome’s occupation of England have been found throughout the country…But archaeologists say this is one of the most important finds in decades.
