When it comes to the epic Console Wars, there’s no room for failure. Every gaming company is trying to push their way into a crowded field in order to stand out and present products that gamers actually want to pay for. It’s not easy. The new Playstation 5, the Xbox Series X and the Nintendo Switch all dominate the marketplace. So with consoles like that on the market, what does Atari hope to do with their new Atari VCS console?

Well, a lot actually! The long-delayed new console from one of the original pioneers of console gaming is finally on track to release in Spring of 2021 after a series of huge setbacks and delays. Now the question on everyone’s mind is whether taking the chance and buying one of these new consoles is actually worth it in the long run.

Because on the surface the new console looks like it does come with some cool features that both embrace the nostalgia of their Atari 2600, while also pushing things forward to the modern age. Yes you’ll be able to access all the classic Atari games when you purchase it, but you can play them with either a redesigned classic wireless joystick, or a more updated handheld controller. The console also presents a unique element that can basically turn your Atari VCS into a mini-computer complete with its own Operating System. All those features at least make us interested, but at the end of the day, does it’s hefty price tag discourage gamers from actually buying it?
