Top Gear’s Richard Hammond is coming to America, and he’s strapping into some serious machinery. But three days to master the world’s toughest vehicles… might not be enough!

This week, Richard must conquer the Crane, the Claw and Electro-Magnet, all essential tools used to break down oil rigs and select the reusable material. The Crane can lift up to 150 tons, the Claw is used to separate out recyclable materials with the weight of 100 sumo wrestlers, and the Electro-Magnet can lift up to 4,000 pounds at one time, the same as 20 refrigerators.

As Richard says, “a proper big machine… Ahhhh! I think I need more practice!”

As host of TOP GEAR, the world’s biggest car show, Richard Hammond has driven just about every high-powered and luxurious vehicles out there. Now, he’s traveling across the U.S. for the ultimate driving test: learning how to operate America’s largest and most dangerous vehicles.

Immersed in some of the country’s most extreme environments, he’ll only have days to master these monstrous machines, a task that takes years for most people to achieve. He’ll learn from the locals, or drive them crazy trying. And in the end, the experts will decide if he has successfully mastered each challenge.
