PS5: The Tech Explained

This is everything YOU need to know about Sony’s new released PS5 and the technology behind their incredible console, and duel sense controller.

We’re going to explain the PS5’s tech so you can know what you’re getting into while you wait in line to buy it. The next gen machines boast numbers in units of measurement that not all of us easily understand. We’re going to cover the main ones so that you can be better informed when joining in the great gaming debate of 2020. We’re going to give a broad and general overview of the PS5 and Series X’s Graphics Processing Units (GPU or Graphics Card), Central Processing Units (CPU), Random Access Memory (RAM or memory), Solid State Drives (SSD), 4K Ultra High Definition Blu Ray disc drive, and the Tempest 3D Audiotech.

We’re going to compare each of these specs to the XBox Series X’s and preface each section with a quick explanation as to what each spec really means in relation to the user experience. In short, what are teraflops, and why do they matter. What is RAM, and how will it speed up the gaming process. How can the Zen RDNA 2 make mind blowing graphics that will please me beyond last gen (or can it even do that at all). It probably can, but it will take time, as the new games will look slightly better than the PS4 and XBox One’s, but the games coming out in a few years will be really mind blowing, as they will be able to ful out the machines’ specs and push them to their full potential. The Elder Scrolls VI and other big games coming out next year and the year after will really show what the next generation of consoles can do.
