Will the Sony PS5 present games in fake 4K? The favourite to win the console wars has come under fire lately from some gaming insiders and console critics as concerns over it’s new technology being difficult for developers to work around has caused a small stir in the gaming community. Fear over developers having to present games in fake 4K using technology to upscale to try and trick the demanding eyes of gamers would be deceitful and hurtful to loyal fans. Could that be a factor in making people make the switch to XBox?
Microsoft has its own problems, sure, but it’s hardware is more familiar to developers and on paper, more powerful, making it attractive to many. It’s exclusives list and its rumored lower price helps too, and although Halo doesn’t look quite like we’d expect from a 2020 next gen machine, many have faith that they’ll work it out, and won’t worry their pretty little heads about it.
As for how bad this problem could actually be for Sony, we must keep in mind that it comes from a place of fear and not a place of fact. No developers have actually come forward to voice actual concerns or real problems related to this. These doubts are coming from people on the outside looking in. If it ends up being absolutely true, Sony could end up spending more money than they make at the end of the year, putting them in financial hot water.
