PS5 Is The Showcase Champion

Sony’s PS5 finally has a price, and it’s exactly the same as the XBox’s: $399 USD for the digital, and $499 for the standard. With a launch date just a handful of days after the Series X and S take the shelves on Friday, November 13th, 2020. If you’re good and you get one before Jason Voorhees gets you, you’ll have a great many great games to look forward to. Sony confirmed that FInal Fantasy XVI, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, and God of War Ragnarok are coming as PS5 exclusives (with FFXVI also available on PC), and we got extended looks at some of the most anticipated games of the year, like Demon’s Souls, Oddworld Soulstorm, Fortnite, Dethloop, Resident Evil: Village, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, Hogwarts: Legacy, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and, of course, fan favourite Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

We’re going to go through the details of the Playstation Plus deal that will give gamers access to eighteen era defining PS4 titles at launch and compare that to what the XBox Game Pass Ultimate is offering Series X and S heads when they get their machine.

And ultimately, we’re going to argue over who won the console showcase. Sure, XBox announced their price and launch date first, but Sony matched them almost to the day for the day and down to the dollar for the price. So what will it come down to? Is it a battle of the peripherals? Graphics? We’re thinking it comes down to the reason you buy the console: games. Which exclusives you want will guide your spirit and your wallet to the console your gaming thumbs desire the most. Sony is the favourite, as it has won the console wars before, and decisively, but XBox isn’t completely out yet!
