Now that we know the specs of the PS5 and the Xbox Series X, we’ve been spending every second of the last few weeks comparing and contrasting everything we learned about the consoles. Whether it’s the CPU, GPU or storage, we’re doing our best to try and figure out exactly who has the advantage between Sony and Microsoft in the upcoming console wars. While it seems like Microsoft is leading the way in terms of raw power, Sony has optimized every inch of the PS5 for gaming and we may have very well found out what their secret weapon is.

While everyone is comparing the GPU of the Xbox Series X to the PS5 and how it has 12 teraflops to the console’s 10 teraflops, we don’t think that’s going to matter all that much in the upcoming console wars. Sure, we don’t think teraflops are useless, but they might not be as important as Microsoft is making it seem. We think that the real war between these two consoles is a storage war and at the forefront of it all are the Solid State Drives of both consoles. The Xbox Series X might have more storage in its SSD, but the PS5 has it beat in every other way. It’s the PS5’s secret weapon.

There’s more to the storage wars than just that so enjoy the video, let us know which console you think has the better SSD in the comments section below and don’t forget to subscribe to TheGamer for more gaming content.
