PS5: Exclusive’s Will Win

Let’s face facts – Sony’s PS5 has far more exclusives coming to their console – including the major upset from Marve’s Avengers only having Spiderman on the Playstation network – and excluding him from the Xbox. It’s this level of exclusivity that is leading Sony to the top.

The exclusives list could be the decider for many of the next gen console wars’ undecided voters, and everyone has that one game franchise or character they are practically married to. This is where Spider-Man and Final Fantasy XVI come in. The Web Slinging fan favourite will be an exclusive character on the PS4 and PS5 versions of Marvel’s much anticipated Avengers game. He’ll be swinging into your systems sometime in 2021. Final Fantasy XVI could become a timed exclusive for Sony, and it’s been a hot minute since we’ve chased crystals on Chocobos and drank some Phoenix Down. Like the Summer Olympics, we need a new Final Fantasy game every four years and the next one would be a little late if it comes in 2021, but we’ll accept it.

Sony has released some news about its tech and what PS4 peripherals will be usable on the PS5. We’ll look at the Dualshock, PSVR, PS Move, wheels, cameras and aircraft tech to tell you what you can keep and what you can throw out. We’ll contrast this to Microsofts’ current state of affairs on its XBox One accessories.

Finally, we’ll confirm that the State of Play event will take place on August 6th, 2020 at 1PM PT and will mostly focus on the PSVR and PS4, so those of us that live in the now can enjoy some more current news.
