What are the differences between the GPU manufacturers? Have you ever been in a computer store and wondered why there are AMD cards and Nvidia Cards and then ASUS motherboards with AMD chips in them and EVGA PCBs with Nvidia chips in them? And have you ever wondered why the big two don’t just go full on Optimus Prime and take out all competition by manufacturing PCBs and motherboards with their chips in them to control a huge piece of the market? I mean, if there’s an opportunity to be as big as Microsoft, why not take it, right?

We’re going to talk about the importance of specialization in business, and how doing everything yourself can lead to exhaustion of resources, and ultimately, destruction. We’re going to talk about the difference between AMD and Nvidia’s partners, and how they bundle and stack their products differently to compete with one another in their space, and what team green and team red do to stay on top in theirs.

We’re going to talk about how hard it actually is to create a GPU compared to making a PCB and motherboard, and how each company leans in to their expertise when building and marketing. That way, everyone can eat, and the consumers do win in the end, as getting everything from one place leads to a drop in quality as well as price gouging.
