Over the years, Battlefield has become one of the best first-person shooters on the market. The series began with a few excellent games set during World War II and the Vietnam War. Things got a little weird and over-the-top with Battlefield 2142, but the release of Battlefield: Bad Company made everyone forget about that disaster and it’s been onwards and upwards ever since. The multiplayer and campaign were spot on and the franchise began to give Call of Duty a run for its money. The most recent release, Battlefield 1, is one of the best first-person shooters of all-time which is why fans are so excited for the release of Battlefield 5. EA DICE hasn’t given us any information at all about Battlefield 5 so the question on everyone’s mind is: where will it be set? We could see a World War II setting, a modern setting or even a Cold War setting for the first-person shooter. In terms of the campaign, Battlefield might take a page out of Call of Duty’s book and go with a long, cinematic campaign with big name actors and big time voices. Maybe we can even see the story through the eyes of the enemy? It would be great for Battlefield 5 to drop the annoying Premium Pass. Improvements to both the Frostbite engine and character customization can seriously put this game over the top. Luckily for us, we won’t have to wait too long to get our hands on this game with a release date likely to be set around October 2018.
