John Hartson urges regular prostate checks to prevent cancer

Former footballer John Hartson described how ignorance of his health left him close to death.

The 44-year-old was diagnosed with testicular cancer late after complaining to doctors about experiencing severe headaches, four years after he spotted a lump.

Hartson was diagnosed with stage-four cancer after it had spread to his brain, but a miraculous survival has inspired him to launch the John Hartson Foundation.
