Negotiating a trade deal with the EU to meet the deadline at the end of December 2020 will be difficult but not impossible, said Helen McEntee TD.
As someone who is part of the talks, she reiterated that there will be no checks on the island of Ireland.
The Fine Gael politician told Sky News that now is not the time to talk about ballots on a united Ireland.
