A British doctor has performed the world’s first operation to reverse vision loss in people with age-related macular degeneration, using a stem cell from an embryo.
The procedure was carried out on a female patient at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
Age-related macular degeneration is the most common cause of blindness.
