Gaming Emulators Are Just Like Time Machines

Did you ever wish you could create a time machine to go back to where gaming all started? It might not be the most efficient use of a time machine, but as a gamer, I’m sure you’ve thought about it at least once. Thankfully, we don’t have to go through all of that trouble because we’ve got emulation! Through emulation, you can play any game on any console at any time and it’s all completely free. Naturally, this has led to a retro gaming revival, but it’s not all sunshine and rainbows where it comes to emulation.

Emulation is party illegal. I say partly because the act of downloading and using an emulator is legal, but downloading ROMs for your emulator is illegal. The thing is, emulation has come a really long way. The programs we have today work flawlessly and, since downloading emulators and ROMs are completely free, it’s such a cost effective way to experience the classics. Many gamers don’t care about the copyright and piracy issues. They just want to play games and emulators are one of the best ways to do that. Just always keep in mind rule #1 of emultation: we don’t talk about emulation. It’s kind of like Fight Club in that regard.

There’s more to why emulators have revived retro gaming than just that so enjoy the video, let me know what you think is the best emulator in the comments section below and don’t forget to subscribe to TheGamer for more gaming content.
