Fugitive ex-Nissan boss claims he fled persecution

The former boss of car manufacturers Nissan, Carlos Ghosn, said he fled Japan because he faced persecution and feared he was going to die there if he did not escape.

The businessman even compared the shock of his arrest to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour in 1941 in a two-hour long news conference in Beirut.
