For Children With Clubfoot, Treatment Can Be Life Changing

One out of every thousand children is born with an abnormality called clubfoot, which causes the feet or ankles to be twisted. The process to treat clubfoot is relatively straightforward, but many do not have access to the simple procedures using casting and braces needed to correct it. If left untreated, clubfoot can be debilitating for those it affects. In this short from production company Blue Chalk, see how one doctor in India is working to change the lives of hundreds of children with support from the nonprofit WonderWork.

The Short Film Showcase spotlights exceptional short videos created by filmmakers from around the web and selected by National Geographic editors. We look for work that affirms National Geographic’s mission of inspiring people to care about the planet. The filmmakers created the content presented, and the opinions expressed are their own, not those of the National Geographic Society.

Know of a great short film that should be part of our Showcase? Email SFS@ngs.org to submit a video for consideration.
