First Rings Found Circling Weird World Near Pluto | National Geographic

Astronomers have discovered the first known dwarf planet to host a ring system. This animation shows the 43-mile-wide ring of particles and debris that encircles the planet. The egg-shaped world, called Haumea, is located in the Kuiper belt, beyond the orbit of Neptune.
