How to Make Easy Flourless Chocolate Cake | Dessert Recipes | Allrecipes.com

Ingredients:
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
15 ounces semisweet chocolate morsels
15 ounces unsalted butter
1 ¾ cups white sugar
10 eggs
¼ cup water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions:
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease a 10-inch cake pan with oil.

Step 2
Combine chocolate, butter, and sugar in a double boiler over simmering water; cook, stirring frequently and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula, until melted and smooth, about 5 minutes.

Step 3
Pour chocolate mixture into the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment; beat on low speed until cooled, about 5 minutes. Increase speed to medium; beat in eggs one at a time. Add water and vanilla extract; beat on low speed until blended. Pour into the prepared pan.

Step 4
Place cake pan inside a large baking dish. Pour enough water into the baking dish to come halfway up the sides of the cake pan.

Step 5
Bake cake in the preheated oven until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean, about 1 hour. Allow cake to cool in the water bath, about 1 hour. Transfer to the refrigerator; chill until firm, 8 hours to overnight.

West African Peanut Sauce with Udon Noodles – How To

Chef JJ Johnson of Fieldtrip in New York City is on a mission to expand the definition of the world’s “mother sauces” to include the West African peanut sauce. Chef JJ explains how this “Mother Africa sauce” became an impactful result of the African diaspora and how cooking in Ghana encouraged him to see food through the West African lens.

In this recipe, JJ combines this sauce, made with carrots, tomatoes, celery, garlic, cumin, and unsweetened peanut butter, with udon noodles as a nod to the co-mingling of Japanese and West African populations that exist in Brazil via diaspora.

Ingredients:
cooking spray
1 (15.25 ounce) package white cake mix with pudding (such as Duncan Hines®)
1 cup water
3 large egg whites
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 (10 ounce) can pina colada mix
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
½ cup sweetened flaked coconut

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
2. Blend cake mix, water, egg whites, and oil in a bowl using an electric mixer until moistened. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
3. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, 23 to 28 minutes.
4. Poke holes into the hot cake. Pour in pina colada mix and sweetened condensed milk. Let cool completely, at least 2 hours.
5. Spread whipped topping over cake. Sprinkle coconut on top. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
