By night (and any other time she’s not working), she’s a popular Instagram food artist (@tishacherry) and makes dazzling, intricate creations made from food like Oreo cookies, Spam, noodles, and whatever else she craves. Tisha, a technically untrained artist, has devoted the past seven years to her food art obsession, and finds inspiration from word play and puns that fuel her creativity.

How To Make Crawfish Pasta

Kia Damon, culinary director of Cherry Bombe, makes Crawfish and Shrimp Étouffée with pasta in the Munchies Test Kitchen. She sautés onions, bell peppers, and celery, before making a duck fat roux, which gets mixed together with shellfish stock and creole seasoning. The sauce comes together by adding Worcestershire sauce, heavy cream and hot sauce and is then combined with al dente fettuccini, shrimp and crawfish, for a creamy shellfish pasta with a cajun kick.

In this episode of Local Obsessions, Hashim Aslami, a successful saffron producer and Afghanistan’s top advisor in the saffron sector, talks about the world’s most expensive spice, known as “red gold.” Hashin explains how saffron has impacted Afghanistan’s economy. Saffron, prized for its bright color and savory flavor, is produced entirely by hand and extremely labor intensive and is often used in dishes such as bouillabaisse, paella, tahchin, and risotto milanese among many others. Now, Afghanistan is the third-largest saffron producing country in the world.

Chef’s Night Out – Vaping with Grandma & Other Things You Can’t Do In Restaurants

Jonah Reider, creator of Pith Supper Club and columnist for Food & Wine Magazine, celebrates the joys of home cooking by apartment-hopping across Manhattan with his friends for three unique homemade meals.

Jonah and his partner Sarah start off the night with wine, homemade sourdough bread, and fish crudos. Then it’s off to their friend Ali’s Greenwich Village apartment where her mom cooks linguine with clams as grandma Jean and Jonah share a vape pen. Next, they visit Ian, NYC’s top luxury foods dealer, on the Upper West Side for egg and biscuit sandwiches topped with caviar and shaved truffles. The crew then heads to DJ Matt FX’s West Village apartment for his signature spicy fried chicken sandwich and matcha margaritas, before ending the night back at Pith for a party that includes harissa crispy potatoes, steamed mussels and more wine.
