How to Make Homemade Ice Cream #WithMe | At Home Recipes | Allrecipes.com

Ingredients:
1 cup maple syrup, divided
8 egg yolks
3 cups half-and-half
1 cup heavy cream
1 pinch salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract (optional)

Directions:
1. Whisk 1/2 cup maple syrup and egg yolks together in a medium bowl. Set aside.
2. Stir remaining maple syrup, half-and-half, cream, and salt together in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat, stirring often, until simmering. Reduce heat to medium.
3. Add about 1/2 cup of the hot cream mixture to the egg mixture. Whisk constantly to prevent the eggs from cooking. Repeat with another 1/2 cup of the cream mixture. Pour egg mixture into the saucepan, stirring constantly with a heatproof spatula. Cook, stirring constantly, until custard thickens and coats the back of the spatula, 1 to 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat.
4. Strain custard through a fine-mesh sieve set over a clean bowl. Whisk in vanilla extract. Set the bowl in an ice bath and stir the custard occasionally until cooled to room temperature, 15 to 30 minutes.
5. Remove the bowl from the ice bath, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours, or overnight.
6. Churn cold custard in an ice cream maker, according to manufacturer’s instructions, until it reaches the consistency of soft serve. Serve right away or cover tightly with plastic wrap and freeze until firm.

How to Make Chewy Cereal Cookies #WithMe | At Home Recipes | Allrecipes.com

Ingredients:
2 egg whites
1 cup white sugar
2 cups high-protein crisp rice and wheat cereal (such as Kellogg’s® Special K®)
1 cup flaked coconut
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.

Step 2
In a clean and dry glass or metal bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar while continuing to whip until stiff peaks form. Fold in cereal, coconut and vanilla. Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.

Step 3
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until firm. Allow to cool completely before removing from cookie sheets.

Using day-old rice is the key to getting the rice perfectly toasted, and making an aromatic XO sauce ensures the final dish is packed with flavor. Brandon makes his XO sauce by finely dicing his veggies such as green garlic, leek, ginger and daikon, sautéing them in clarified butter and adding spicy salami and shrimp. He then toasts the rice in a cast iron pan before adding the sauce and a scrambled egg, resulting in a quick and easy meal that will satisfy your takeout cravings.
