Campaigners caught up in the ‘trap’ of a leasehold home, effectively a long-term rental agreement, are taking mass legal action for the first time.
Another concern for leaseholders is that landowners can impose strict rules on their lease, with homeowners sometimes having to pay large costs, for anything from changing the carpet to building a conservatory.
The Home Builders Federation, believes there is still a place for leasehold if it is used fairly.
