Boeing to stop production of jet involved in deadly crashes

The US aerospace firm says it will temporarily halt production of the 737 MAX aircraft, which was grounded after two crashes that killed 346 people.

The decision could affect parts suppliers and the US economy, as Boeing is America’s largest manufacturing exporter and the 737 MAX is its most popular passenger jet.

The company was repeatedly unable to win approval from global regulators to let the plane fly again.
