Anti-Putin campaigner Bill Browder warns the PM has to “step up to the plate” for Russian sanctions

Businessman Bill Browder, who says he is Vladimir Putin’s number one enemy, tells Sky’s Sam Washington that Theresa May has to “step to the plate” in terms of Russian sanctions and follow suit with the US.

Browder warns if the Prime Minister doesn’t enforce sanctions, it sets an “enormous welcome mat” for Russia to carry out more attacks. Oleg Deripaska, one of Britain’s best-known Russian oligarchs, was targeted in US sanctions and shares in his company Rusal, which is responsible for 7% of the world’s aluminium production, fell by 40% on Monday.
