There have been a lot of blatant rip offs and cash grabs over the years. It’s almost like a right of passage for popular films to see some sort of knockoff version of it released in order to capitalize on the name recognition or some part of the overall theme of the original. That includes popular holiday related film such as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, and yes, even Die Hard.
