Released in 2016, the Disney animated film “Moana” is still making waves across the globe. Fans cannot get enough of the epic adventure, memorable songs, and inspiration of Moana’s journey. A lot of film focuses on the character of Maui, the demi-god who helps Moana on her journey. Originally, the character was supposed to be bald before he received his long locks of hair. The fish hook he carries is also designed and based off of the star constellation known as Scorpio. Maui was actually going to be the original main character in the film before the story focused on Moana’s journey instead. Like many other animations, Moana is filled with references to classic Disney movies like Aladdin, Frozen, and Wreck-It Ralph. The quick moments are easy to miss while watching the film. You may not know it, but Moana has a secret connection to Star Wars besides just being owned by Walt Disney. The success of Moana led to the full development of a Moana playset for Disney Infinity, but there were multiple hindrances from the set getting a full and official release.
