Even though Peter Griffin has gotten himself into some truly unbelievable situations over the years, we can’t help but continue to root for our favourite bumbling dad. Sure, he’s reckless, terrible to his entire family, selfish, irresponsible, foolhardy, and just generally kind of a mess, it’s what makes him who he is, and what makes the show still so funny after all of these years. But sometimes, even Peter Griffin can go too far! Like the way he has treated Meg over the course of the entire series! Or the time that he “accidentally” killed Quagmire’s cat with a straight razor, and then took Quagmire’s reward money anyway. Or how about when he got his infant son addicted to steroids that he got off of a stranger at the gym? Or there was the time that he beat the crap out of a kid who had been bullying Chris. There was the episode where he and Stewie bond over torturing Lois and seriously hurting her over and over again. Or when he gave away Anne Frank to the Nazis. He banned wheelchairs from his restaurant (including one of his best friends), did a painfully long and awkward bit about Michael J Fox for no real reason, attempted to marry his own son in order to collect inheritance from Carter, and finally, absolutely eviscerated a beached whale with a forklift. Peter has been in some seriously sticky situations, and yet somehow always seems to get away with it, by the skin of his teeth!
