There are a lot of video games on the market and, for the most part, the majority of them have some sort of items available for use in game. Not only are items an integral part of gameplay when it comes to most games, but there are a lot of developers out there that enjoy giving players a variety of items to use. Typically, there are a lot of items that players love and actively seek out as they will help them in their quest to finish the game.
Then there are some items that will leave players scratching their heads and wondering what the heck developers were thinking when they came up with said item. For the most part, these item are just once off, joke items that developers thought would be funny. These items are usually a novelty on the first playthrough and then are quickly discarded once they cease being humorous. It’s all in good fun and, usually, it just becomes an inside joke between players and developers; a shared yet weird experience, in most cases.
Of course, there are some developers who love to troll their fanbase more than others with a variety of jokes and strange items throughout their games. However, it’s still funny to come across a strange item in an otherwise serious game. If you have ever played Borderlands 2 or Ratchet and Clank, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about. The items on this list only make sense if they’re taken with a grain of salt.
