The Pokemon franchise is intended for children. The main character in every game is a child setting out into the world to catch fantastic creatures in order to become the best pokemon trainer in the world. It’s an adorable game that lets children live out their fantasies of gathering all the pets they possibly can. Even the battle sequences are tame compared to other games and, for the most part, there is nothing too horrific in any Pokemon game that would scar children for life; other than Team Rocket and Gary, that is.
Then there are fan theories which, if true, would entirely change the game and it’s overall themes. A lot of the theories revolve around the population of Pokemon regions; as in, why are there so few middle aged people and why do a lot of these children not have fathers? There are also some theories that bring into question the origin stories of certain Pokemon that don’t fit with the canon. In fact, with some of these theories, fans may be wondering if the game is as child friendly as they originally thought.
Nevertheless, none of these theories have been confirmed. However, some of them definitely came about due to the rampant mysteries in the Pokemon universe. There are a lot of unexplained things throughout the franchise and some fans are bound to theorize over any number of them. If any of these theories do turn out to be true, it will definitely change how fans look at the franchise.
