We got to love a good conspiracy theory. But they aren’t something that is exclusively found in our day to day lives. Many people have their own views on what really goes on behind the scenes in their favorite films, causing some pretty wacky internet conspiracy theories to become quite popular. Some of them seem totally possible, such as Donald Duck from Disney likely having PTSD thanks to his tenure as a paratrooper during the Second World War. Another likely theory is that Elsa and Anna’s parents from Frozen are also the parents of Tarzan and the aunt and uncle to Rapunzel, who was present at Elsa’s coronation. There are some truly thought out theories, such as Toy Story 3 being a giant metaphor for the holocaust and that Jessie’s owner Emily was Andy’s grandmother. There are theories that seem likely due to convenience, like Hercules being King Triton’s cousin from The Little Mermaid or Aladdin actually taking place in the future. There’s also talk that Boo from Monster’s Inc is actually the Witch from Monster’s Inc, the same company where Bing Bong from Inside Out is actually from. Then there’s the wackier theories, and that includes that the Minions from Despicable Me are actually in league with the Illuminati and helped stage the moon landing in some capacity. Yeah-that one’s a bit more out there. But conspiracy theories are what make the internet so fun so while they exist, we’ll continue to be entertained by them and possibly even believe a few of the really good ones.
