The excitement for Avengers: Infinity War is now practically palpable. It’s really just around the corner, guys!
The nineteenth instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will bring together every superhero in the franchise in order to combat the threat of the intergalactic warlord Thanos and his allies, as the purple-faced Mad Titan collects the Infinity Stones and becomes an all-powerful god.
The movie has been set-up for ten years – ever since Iron Man first hit our screens – and it’s set to be one of the most epic Hollywood offerings of all time. This video will run you through just some of the occasions it was referenced in the eighteen movies that have come before it.
The entries are; the (fake) Infinity Gauntlet appearing in Odin’s trophy room in 2011’s Thor, Thanos appearing in the mid-credits scene of 2012’s The Avengers, Erik Selvig’s chalkboard notes in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, the Collector’s mid-credits appearance in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, Thanos’ big speech in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the Collector’s explanation of the Infinity Stones in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Tony Stark’s Scarlet Witch-induced vision in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor’s mystically induced vision in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Steve Rogers’ emotional letter to Tony Stark at the end of 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, and Thanos’ huge ship (Santuary II) appearing in the mid-credits scene of 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok.
