The first XBox hit the video game market in 2001 and since then it has become one of the most popular console gaming systems on the market. For most owners, the XBox gives them more options than their rivals. XBox has created a nice niche for themselves with serious and casual gamers alike especially with the exclusivity of games like Halo. Sure, Microsoft has had a few missteps in the video game market, but it’s nothing which alienated their fanbase or hurt their wallet too much. In fact, fans of XBox will generally defend their console of choice to anyone who will listen in spite of certain mistakes Microsoft has made.

If the XBox is still on the market while churning out new consoles every once in awhile, the mistakes they’ve made can’t be too bad, right? While some of Microsoft’s practices have been somewhat shady, there hasn’t been anything, so far, to turn their fanbase against them. Most importantly, for Microsoft anyway, their mistakes haven’t obliterated their bank accounts yet. We suspect that, if they were still losing an ample amount of cash, the XBox would be a thing of the past.

However, we’re certain the XBox Division of Microsoft would rather have fans forget about these blunders. From red rings of death to deceptive marketing practices, Microsoft has pulled their fair share of mistakes including making business deals with one of the most controversial video game development companies of all time. Maybe Microsoft will learn from their past mistakes and do what’s right for their fans in the future.
